The company's key challenges and development plans were examined, with an emphasis on the need to redefine its role within the country's energy portfolio.
According to the Public Relations, Brand, and Social Responsibility Department of TAPPICO (the Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Investment Holding), the company's Energy Think Tank has stated that current changes present favorable opportunities to redefine the development path of the Persian Gulf Star Oil Company.
He stated: "TAPPICO’s new approach is to ensure that the Persian Gulf Star Oil Company is not viewed merely as a refinery and product manufacturer; rather, its potential to play a broader role in the country’s energy value chain must be identified and activated."
Alireza Hadipour added: "To move forward on this path, we must first have a precise picture of the existing challenges and the company's development projects, and then formulate a development roadmap for Oil Star aligned with TAPPICO’s strategies in collaboration with the holding company."
It is worth noting that at the conclusion of the meeting, the progress of the project to construct an ammonia unit utilizing the complex's surplus hydrogen, the status of technical know-how, feedstock supply challenges, and studies regarding the construction of a crude oil distillation unit were reviewed; it was decided that a comprehensive assessment of the obstacles and opportunities facing these projects would be conducted.
